The decisions of last July's G8 Summit at Gleneagles, Scotland, has been praised by some as a success and condemned by others who had been expecting a different outcome. The July 2005 G8 Summit at Gleneagles, Scotland, had been preceded by the decision, a month earlier, by G8 Ministers to cancel debts owed the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the African Development Bank by 18 poor, developing countries which had already satisfied HIPC conditions.
